Primera's LX4000 Colour Label Printer

Primera Technology has launched a new desktop digital label printer, the LX4000, which it says is based on its LX910 system but has large, individual ink tanks and a reusable thermal inkjet print head.

Capable of printing at up to 4.5 inches (114mm) per second, the printer can produce labels at up to 8-inches (203mm) wide and 24-inches (609mm) long, with a native resolution of 1200 x 4800 dpi.

The manufacturer says the LX4000 is ideal for users that need to print up to 7500 labels per day, but has low operating costs for those with less volumes. The Big Ink system on the device uses dye and pigment inks that are optimized for brightness, durability and optical density, with a process black that – in comparison to carbon black inks used in other colour label printers – has better water and chemical resistance, greater compatibility with a wider variety of label media and enhanced resistance to smearing, according to Primera.

Mark D. Strobel, Primera’s vice president of sales and marketing, said the company was excited to introduce ‘such a highly capable’ desktop colour label printer, adding, ‘For companies needing higher volumes of labels with the very best print quality and a very low cost per label, the LX4000 is an outstanding choice.’
